Booktime goes Big
This term, Booktime is giving a free book pack to more than 750,000 4-5 year olds across the UK. It contains a free copy of Ed Vere's Mr Big, published by Puffin, and children in England will also receive a free copy of Puffin's The Booktime Book of Fantastic First Poems. Pearson is working with the charity Booktrust to encourage children and parents to enjoy reading together and Booktime is supported in England by the Government's Department for Children, Schools and Families.
Now in its fourth year, Booktime has delivered nearly four million books to over two and a half million children across the UK since 2005. Pearson people across the UK are once again volunteering to read with children in primary schools near our offices.

Read for the Record
On Thursday 8th October, Pearson partnered with Jumpstart's Read for the Record campaign to celebrate reading and set a new world record for the largest shared reading experience.
This year's book is The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. Over a million people read it at events across the US and Pearson Foundation provided copies of a special edition of the book to over 250 school districts across the country. Since 2006, Pearson has shared more than 300,000 copies of Read for the Record books with teachers, students, community organisations, and school districts.
